Turquoise & Pink Crystal Charm Bracelet~Heather Rose Jewelry

I just love the way this bracelet turned out! I used lots of gorgeous turquoise nuggets, and complimented them with pink crystal & glass beadwork. The pink faceted crystal hearts are my favorite out of the 3 styles of hearts I used to charm this piece. They have a stunning a/b finish and are 3-d style, They just sparkle!

Heather Rose Jewelry~Wiring

I Have a very unique style of wiring when it comes to creating my jewelry. Being I use alot of heavy beads I wanted to create a system to hold the beads well. Gemstones and glass are quite heavy and you need a strong chain and a strong wire system. I want my pieces to last forever! I use a headpin to start with, add beads...then add 1 loop at the top...then I add another pin with a double loop. This single...double system creates a strong chain. I always make sure that the top loop is doubled like a split ring (like the one on a key chain). You will see the close ups on my designs of the chain with the doubled loops attached to the main chain. This is a very expensive method and time consuming as well. Instead of one bead totem (designers use the word totem to represent the pole that the beads are on) I joint the pins (I use 2-3 and joint them, there is alot of movement instead of the one bead stick). I use 3 sizes of pins to complete 1 bead drop from my chain.

My store fills up slowly due to the fact that I spend 3 hours per bracelet using this method. My customers compliment me on the fact that they never lose beads.

Daffodils In Springtime Charm Bracelet~Heather Rose Jewelry

Heather Rose Jewelry~Vintage Brass Jewelry

I have been working with a new metal~Vintage Brass. The materials are a bit more expensive, but I just love the way the pieces turn out, they have an Old antique appearance. I am always meaning to make a smaller style of bracelet, but when I start working they always end up being very FULL. I guess thats just my style.

Heather Rose Jewelry

Lately I have been making new pieces using new materials as well as vintage pieces that I have found at auctions, estate sales and flea markets. It has created a very fun new pastime for me and my family. We now have something to do on weekends, go jewelry hunting! It seems like everyone knows the vaule of vintage pieces now and even though you are buying something used you will find it still has a hefty price tag. It is well worth it though when you find pieces that are in mint condition. I just love creating these vintage~modern pieces. I will usually take the vintage pieces I will be using along with me to Michaels to search the bead gallery for just the right colors to compliment them.
